College Budget

So as you guys currently know I am a freshmen at CSUN, which means that I got priory in picking out my classes. On the first of my spring semester I showed up to my second class late and I realized there was no seats available. I had to seat on the floor along with 5 other students. The teacher told the students who were trying to add, to sign a paper to see if he had any extra space to add any more students. This semester for more than half my classes I had people trying to add the class. The first week of school was crazy because half of the time I had to seat on the floor. Everyone was showing up because they really wanted to add the class.
On my second week of school i show up to class early because I wanted to get a seat. I did get a seat, then class started and the teacher told everyone that was trying to add to leave because he was not allowed to add anyone. He said I add everyone, but the school is not letting any teachers add students. I was shocked because last semester I heard about a big ordeal about Occupy Wall Street which was about people who were trying to fight for our rights and benefits. It did not pass and the one’s who suffered the most was the education system.
It affected CSUN students dramatically because first of all their tuition went up.  Second, we were only allow to get a maximum of 15 units when last semester it was a maximum of 19 units. Third, the teachers were not allowed to add any students. That affected many students because many of them were low on units and were trying to reach 12 units in order to be considered full time student. So all of those students who were not allowed to add lost there FAFSA money.
This is very frightening because next year I am no longer going to have priority so I am going to be like those kids trying to add class. It is very scary to realize that perhaps next semester I wont be able to be a full time student. Also I may have to get classes I don’t need just to be considered a full time student so I can get all of my money from financial aid. This also means that its going to take me longer to graduate. This is not only affecting me, it is affecting thousands of other students.
